my boyfriend and i are trying to have a baby, we've been trying for about a year and a half now. he smoke ciggarettes and sometimes smokes weed.. he used to do other drugs such as crack and coke but doesnt anymore. he said that the doctor told him he had a low sperm count so he starting to lay off the smoking cigarettes and weed. will this increase our chances of having a baby? im trying to work with my ovulation calendar to have sex before my cycle wich is in a week will him not smoking for a week improve our chances? please help!

It might help increase his sperm count, but it might not. It's a good idea to stop using drugs before trying to concieve, because the better health you're in the healthier the sperm and the healthier start you give the baby, but it's likely to take a few months to improve if it's going to. If he stops smoking and using drugs, you may want to repeat the semen analysis in a few months to see if he's doing better.

ok im not trying to be rude but maybe your bf should try and quit doing drugs all together before you guys have a child
