As mentioned above, completely unenforceable, not to mention that it directly splits all people into one of two groups, which is not the case. Suppose a professor believes in free trade, but also supports gay marriage. What group does he fall under?

Not to mention, it would be persecuting people for their beliefs, which is unconstitutional.

no. Academia is liberal by definition- the more you travel and study, the less likely you are to be conservative on all issues
