My family is throwing me a baby shower next month, but I want to give "thank you" favors away from "the baby" at my shower. I went to a shower recently where the mom to be gave out "thank you" votive candles and it had a cute poem attached to it, I can't remember exactly what it said but basically it was something along the lines of "even though I am not here yet I wanted to say thank you for gift, etc." and then the poem went on to ask guests to light the candle and say a prayer in babies name. Anyhow, it was super cute and I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggestions or even cute poems to attach to the thank you gifts from the baby!

I have found the poem I was referring to:
I'm so happy you are here
at this shower held for me -
I'm not yet here in person,
but I'm glad my mom can be.
I know that she appreciates
your friendship and your care,
(and also all the baby stories
people love to share)!
The darling baby presents
are all that we'll be needing...
for washing, drying, dressing,
sleeping, diapering and feeding!
I hope that when I do arrive
you'll visit for awhile...
I'll coo and gurgle just for you,
and smile my brightest smile!

congrats. on the little one but i think you should put a poem on it that says something like

Thank you for sharing this special day,
I'm sorry I had to stay away.
But I may be a little longer,
'Cos I have to grow much stronger.
Thank you for your love and wishes,
I'd like to shower you with kisses.
With tiny hands and tiny feet
I hope that very soon we'll meet.
I hope that you will stay a while
And make my mommy (and daddy) smile.
And although I can't be there today
There's something that I'd like to say,
Thank you for your gifts and wishes
And please help mommy with the dishes.
So Thank you all for stopping by
But as I am a little shy.
I thought today I'd stay away
Mommy said that its ok.
Friendship is so hard to measure
But something mommy (and daddy) will treasure.
I hope to see you very soon,
Because in here there ain't much room.
Love from Baby.

At my baby shower everyone got a small Shasta Daisy in a planting pot. It had directions on where to plant it and the amount of light and water. I also had a poem about when the Daises blooming representing the new baby. It's really neat how with most people who planted them they really began to bloom when the baby was born. Also I don't know a whole lot about flowers but the Shasta Daises multiply by themselves into a big patch (which I guess you can then separate) but they also return every year. So my daughter will be two this summer and for the third summer they will come back again. It's really fun seeing them and remembering that's where they came from.

A baby shower I went to, the mother to be handed out bottles (hers had pink/blue candy in it). That way when she visited with the baby, there would always be an emergency bottle at that person's house. LOL, also if they were to babysit the baby! I know she got the bottles from the dollar store so it was super cheap, they were 3 for $1. Then you could fill it with whatever you wanted and still attach a poem to the outside of it.

I think a really great gift for women guests is bath salts. Everyone loves a great bath. Buy some bath salts in bulk (check out Ebay....there are several people that sell bath salts in bulk at GREAT prices on Ebay!!). Place the bath salts in nice plastic bags and then tie them with ribbon and have a card attached with the shower information. Will make for a very nice favor at the shower....

Wow... what an awesome idea. Wish I had thought of it.

At a shower I attended a couple of weeks ago, the MTB gave the hostesses a baby album with copies of all of her ultrasounds in it, and plenty of space for more pictures later...

Congrats!

Get small cute picture frames for your relatives and best friends to put the baby pictures in later.

For those that will probably not be hanging up your child's pictures, get them engraved writing pens.
