I think this question is terrible in terms of wording. I don't think it is A because a small stream can have many tributaries. The mouth means nothing about a river as it could be something to do with the geology of the land that causes the mouth to widen.

The larger the size of a watershed generally means it is a bigger river but watersheds can be created by a number of rivers in an area so it is inaccurate.

Discharge can change and fluctuate and from that we can work out how the river is flowing and if there is a danger. Therefore I think it is C.
