I'm not sure. I think that may just be another stereotype but maybe it is something to look into. Some British guys are hotter than a lot of American guys, but America has some cute ones too. Maybe British men are just more polite or women like the cultural difference (the British accent thing is pretty much true) It may be, however, that American women are stereotyping American men as being irrational slobs. Anyway, I don't know.
P.S. Okay, as long as I'm on the subject, Daniel Radcliffe is a hottie and I love his accent!!!!! Maybe you are on to something...

I wouldn't say most of us are more attracted to English men (or any of the British for that matter) more than American men but like most people anywhere it's always great to have a change although this is a bigger deal than I think most British people will understand. For example, I get the impression from what I read about Britain that most people are more likely to live near tourist attractions where they might be able to easily run into foreigners that are culturally similar to themselves (like Americans, French, etc.) however for many Americans this is a great novelty. You have to remember that all of Great Britain is about the size of the state of Oregon. Outside of a few big cities, the average American rarely gets to meet a British person and even in many cosmopolitan type places you'll have a much higher percentage from third world countries than Western Europe. It's also relatively unusual for the American media to pick up on real life things going on in Britain outside of the occasional story on the royal family or whatever- yet all Americans learn a lot about Britain (for it's size) throughout their lives in terms of history, literature, movies, etc. This means when an average American meets a real life British person the tendency might be to think "Oh my God, I've heard so much about you!" You'll find it easier to get people's attention but you'll need your wits to be able to keep it.

A great accent can only get you so far. Maybe first base with a third class gal. How's your tan? Second base with a second class flirt. Are you buff? Third base with a first class hottie. Nice smile? You can hit a home run. If you're good in the sack, go could get a triple play (three babes in a hot tub). If you want extra innings, you'll have to buy a season ticket. They come in karats :)

A lot of American girls like the British accent, but I really don't care for it. It's nice, but not nice enough for me to throw myself at their feet.

Yes... I think it's hot as hell. I met this English guy once and he was so cool, but unfortunately, I had a boyfriend at the time and couldn't hook up!!! Where is he now??? His accent was groovy and we debated which side of the road is better to drive on. I love you English Blokes!!!
Oh and the funniest thing he said to me was this:
I was pulling out a cigarette and he said, "Oh, I see you got you fags out... don't be a dentist!"
I said, "Whaaaaa????"

I'm sorry, but Love Actually must have distorted English men's perception of us adorable American girls. We love the accent, but...that's about it.

It's true. I had an English friend who was
plain in appearance, but girls were drawn to him like flies
to honey when he spoke. It was funny because they would
all say he spoke like royalty, but he was from some little
village in northern England.

yes, the accent is nice, and an advantage, all other things being equal.
in other words, the accent won't compensate for arrogance, stupidity, poor hygene, or any other minuses.
