I have a six month contract position through a temp agency for a huge company. My position is supposed to be up in June but apparently they will most likely need me an additional three months at least, I have unofficially just found out. I have been given a lot more added duties and responsibilities. Do you think it is appropriate to ask for a raise or since it's a contracting position, I shouldn't push it?

It's appropriate to ask, especially if you're being asked to assume additional responsibility. Nothing ventured, nothing gained....

if you want to chance losing the next contract then ask. cause they can easily say, ok, well, thank you very much for the job you did and we will let you know. then hire someone else. although, the appropriate thing would be to give you more money and i would say you have every right to ask for more money. if you are concerned about the extra work. then take the job if there is more work, state that according to the outlining contract, these added duties are not stated and ask to negotiate the price before signing. but i would say with the world as it is, you will put added work at risk and they can go for someone who will do it anyways.

No its not appropriate...How reliable is this unofficial source?..I would continue to perform my duties in a professional manner, and attention to detail....You could be the only one that is offered a permanent position.
