Of course he is good for the game. You might not like his personality but that doesn't mean he isn't one of the best basketball players in the world and promotes both the NBA and basketball in general. Regardless of his personal life, a three-time champion, two-time All-Star MVP, dunk contest winner, 11-time All-Star, 6-time All-defensive selection, and NBA scoring champion has to be good for basketball. And that night he scored 81 points, he stole the show from the NFL playoff games that were supposed to be the focus of the day in American sports. Who else ever made a regular-season basketball game more important than two playoff NFL games? I've been to China and there are giant Kobe Bryant billboards everywhere...his image is helping promote basketball around the world.

How can he be bad for basketball? You see other players doing worse things than Kobe, and yet you are still pointing at Kobe. He is a great basketball player and has accomplished many things by going against all odds. Now I ask you, what makes all of you Kobe haters better than Kobe?

no i don't think kobe is bad for the game of basketball because he still has fans right. he still plays the game right? i think people accuse him of his selfish and cocky attitude and agree with him for being that way because he is one of the greatest and he can say what he wants. many people have brought him down by his recent mistakes, but mistakes is what everybody makes and he is a human like every other person on this earth. kobe is good for the game. he brings great things to the table and he is now a team player. he also has 3 rings so, many people can't bring him down.

I don't think he is bad for it, but needs to actually grow up and get a grip. The NBA should keep him, but the way they talk about him now, it is like he is some sort of god or something. Don't get me wrong, i despise Kobe because he gets more credit than deserved. Some players that work their behinds off never get recognized because of Kobe. Yet he still goes along with the flow.

What on earth are you talking about? Why would you say that? Cuz he smashes on everybody and he's f'n unstoppable?? He bad for the teams he plays against but that about it. Yeah he cocky and all a that but he can just flat out athleticism/skillwise out play anybody in the league right now. He got heart and yeah he may be a slightly dirty player but he goes hard all the time. What is bad about that? If you going off on the CO thing still....get over that. that's long gone. Kobe has turned his style of play around into more of a team player..I think he has gained a lot of personal respect back from everyone. I can't believe he been in the league for 8 years now! That is just crazy. And he still young..

No. We have all seen those players in highschool elementry school heck pick up ball those players are the ball hogs. I mean in some case he does need to hog the ball with the team he has. However in some cases it isnt that he is a ball hog it is that he does whatever he thinks he can do to make his tema win and for him that means shooting a thousand shots a game. No he isnt bad for the game of basketball unless you have some kid who worships kobe and isnt good and hogs the ball from your kid then he is bad to basketball. but there you culd say nate robinson is bad for basketball cuz a kid tries to dunk in his 6th grade hame and completely misses and hurts himself

Look up in the stands during a game...what do you see...a bunch of people who come to a game to be entertained...to excape thier sad, pathetic..boring lives....
This is what made Basketball popular in the first place!!!..
Basketball is the most unnpredictable..exciting...electric sport!..If people wanted a boring...goody goody...humble...square...no personality..lifeless time..THEY WOULD STAY HOME!!!!!
From Bill Russell fighting RACISM...to Bobby Knight throwing chairs....to Magic showtiming and high fiving...to Bird talking Trash!!!....to Barkley Spitting...Lambier and Rambis cheapshoting...to Jordan's baggy shorts and gambling..
Basketball is about the crazyness of real! life....about energy and passion..the Good and the Bad...the fans need it the fans want it........it's a disgrace as a gladiator to be boring ....
Kobe's jersey is #1.....his shoes on the left side are #1....
no matter what arena he is in ,people either chant his name(most likely)..or booo!.....he is refered to on yahoo answeres more then any other athlete.....he is .....Basketball!

You can't pass all of the blame for what's going on in the league on Kobe Bryant. That just isn't fair at all. There are many bad seeds in the game yet nobody rips on them.

In his 65pt night, his stats were: 23-39 FG's(59%;)
8-12 3pointers(75%); 11-12 FT (92%); 7RB, 3AST. Actually this IS pretty darn good! And when he scored 81, the numbers were even better.
Good for basketball? He sells out every arena he goes to, and gets MVP chants in Boston...you decide.

No worse than Dennis Rodman was.
In fact, with Kobe scoring 50 points a game, he's pretty good for the game.
