Our danio cant seem to swim at the correct angle (its head up tail down) and if it stops swimming it turns up side down, theres a large open sore on its side that looks like its side has exploded. The fish was fine last night and its 1 of the biggest in the tank. Is this dropsey? and is it curable or should i just end its misery.

poor fish!
if its got an open sore on its side ( must be a fungal infection)i wouldnt give it much chance of getting better, especially if its swimming badly!
you could try putting it in a seperate tank and giving it some liquid treatment called eSHa HEXAMITA...all aquatic shops should stock it....and see what happens.
i really dont think it will survive to be honest!
Best of luck

It could be a swim bladder infection. You can buy stuff from the pet shop that you just add to the water. Some types of goldfish are more prone to this than others.
