make sure the sensors are properly lined and that nothing is blocking them, even a buildup of spider webs can cause problems.

Garage door openers have different frequencies. It used to happen to my neighbor all the time when the power would go out or if a little child began to play with the remote that the frequency would change. On the electric motor for the garage there should be steps to follow to reprogram for the right frequency. If this is not the case you should consider getting a new garage door remote at SEARS or other home improvement stores just make sure you buy he right model.

If the remote was somewhat working when you changed the batteries, you probably accidentally changed one of the dip switches. This changes the code so lost or stolen remotes wont work. If this is a possability, check the switches in the receiver to see what they are set to and match the remote switches to it. Switches are either in a on or off position.

how old is it? did you put batteries back in correctly? Did you try other batteries you can buy new batteries and they are dead? Now you can try reprogramming the remote with button like said before, after you check remotes. If that doesnt work your reciever is probably fried. You can buy an external reciever for it or just buy a new opener

This depends on the brand and year of garage door operator you have. I would look to see if something is disconnected on the receiver antenna, or if it has a short in it, Normally once a transmitter is programmed they don't fall out of programming. The other possible problem is RF interferance in your area, has something changed in the enviriment ie: cell towers, military installation, radio station replacing equipment. That may be difficult to find out, if RF is the problem instaaling a signal booster or antenna kit will improve range and performance

in our area, the garage door openers run on the same frequency of some devices at the local army base. the interferrence causes the openers not to work. might be something near by causing a disturbance.

Check the back of the receiver for a "training" button... press this while pressing your remote to reprogram it.
I've had to do this a few times.

Sounds like you need to regulate the spector modulator. If the dohicky rubs on the whatchidamit then the thingymajig gets jammed.

There might desire to be an antenna on the opener, its oftentimes a chew of twine that hangs out of the unit. i might attempt cleanng the battery interior the distant as pronounced above, shifting the antenna slightly. different than that it would be a board interior the opener itself and could be extra low priced to interchange the full ingredient quite than have it serviced.
