Oh wow!
Your period is such a natural thing, and its something she experienced herself...
You can suggest that the 2 of you go to the grocery store, Target or Walmart. When you get there ask her if you could push the buggie and go down the aisle with the pads and put a box in the cart. Then you can say "I think I'm gonna start needing these!"
Maybe you can camplain about cramps and tell her you saw red spots in your underwear.
Why don't you write her a letter?
Dear Mom, Today when I went to use the bathroom I saw blood in my underwear. Do you think it's my period? I'd really like to talk about it. Maybe later you can take some time out and explain the whole period thing! Love Ya
**********************************************************************
Its nothing to be afraid to do...The important thing is for you to tell her, maybe from there, your Mom may make it a little more comfortable for you to discuss things with.
Hope this helps, Good Luck Too!

Go up to her and tell her. She will be too excited. Starting your period is one of your mother's favorite days because its the start of your "woman hood". She will be so happy. Don't hide it. Starting your period isn't a scary thing at all. But, it can be scary without your mom.

hey i had the same problem, just don't do any thing. don't wear any tempons or any pads leave it and let the blood show an your dress or back and roam arround your mom as if you don't know anything she will find it out herself. and you don't have to open your mouth. i did the same and it helped me.

Walk about her with your soiled panties and let her figure it out for herself. Guess what >>>she's even going to prepare herself to be very gentle and nice
