hey all i am a musician,i'm a drummer and a songwriter but want to have a go at putting the keyboard to some of my songs,do you know any good brands/makes/styles of keyboard and what will be the best for me? many thanks.

I assume you want a keyboard that offers a variety of pre-installed sounds...not just a controller, right?

If you are just puttering around, there are plenty of low-cost keyboards with scads of sound effects.

But if you are serious, there are some very important considerations...like you should get an instrument with weighted and touch (velocity) sensitive keys.

Roland XP-50

Brilliant 16 channel sequencer and linear recodring. OK sounds and perfect for making demos on.

I have had two of them in the last 10 years.

I've had good experience with Yamaha keyboards.
