When you compare the quality of mainstream shows available on US television to even a halfway decent anime series there's no comparison. It comes down to if you're going to spend your time watching something why not something entertaining which US television is hard pressed to provide.
I can say with certainty that I'm addicted. I must have my daily dose of anime or I start baying at the moon. There's no cure and I'm not tooking for one either.

Currently watching:

death note
bleach
Shippuden
one piece
Gakuen Alice
Saiunkoku Monogatari
Ergo Proxy

Eheh, well the first answerer must've listed almost all Anime's ever made xD

Anyone, why I like Anime..

I first saw an Anime on CITV (U.K) when I was 11 -- Card Captors, It was in dubbed, but I loved it, So much better than the other stupid childrens programs on at the time. xD

Right... now where to start xD
I think my Anime addiction finally started when I would wake up at the crack of dawn to watch the likes of Beyblade, Digimon & Yugioh on u.k teleivision..

Then after they eventually stopped showing Anime on u.k television. 3 years later I discovered I could watch it on the the internet, off of a Winamp channel -- It was Full Metal Alchemist in sub, but it only showed episodes 20 - 29.. So the very next day I logged onto Ebay and bought the full DVD collection, and over 2 days watched the whole series... That started my hype for Anime.

I then went on to watch D.N Angel, and Soul Link, then... I was hooked.
I finally realised I had a problem when I started watching Naruto from episode 1. (Episode count when I started watching was 197) And I managed to watch all episodes in the space of 3 weeks 0_0.

Sicne then i've been a devout Naruto fan waiting for it every week, but becuase of the weekly waiting, i've sidetracked to watching other Animes...
List:
Tsubasa Chronicles,
Hikaru No Go,
Digimon (3 seasons)
Death Note,
Love Hina,
Air Gear,
Black Cat,
Ouran High School Host Club,
And a few more, I just can't remember for the life of me.

Anyways thats my story... currently i'm 14, and watch up to 5 hours of Anime a day =D So yeah, I leave it up to you to make your own conclusions.

**=-=-=-=** Hey First Poster, your a little mistaken.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is not an Anime, it's a CGI works, sure it may be in the Anime/Manga section of HMV, but it's not an Anime.

And Powerpuff girls? 0_0 I watched that when I was 7, Thats a cartoon more than anything.

I am addicted to anime. To be completely honest, the shows I've loved since I started picking "Like" from "Love" from "Boring" have always been from Japan. One of my first favorite shows, when I could sneak out of my bed in my grandmother's house at night, was the show "Speed Racer" I loved "Voltron"

The closest to a reason why is a genetic disposition or a hormonal imbalance in the womb... I can't even say it's a choice. The few times I've tried to quit, either by saying "Only the stuff I'm already reading/watching" or an all out attempt at throwing away everything I have, or even a more unconcious slide... I just can't do it...

I'm addicted because I am.

As for what I watch/Read:
Fushigi Yuugi
Fruits Basket (Although I can't sit through an episode anymore, I'm still able to read the last 8 or so volumes)
Clamp works (Over and over, except for Chobits, Shirahime Sho, and the English translation of Tsubasa)
Full Metal Alchemist (I can't sit through the show)
Saiyuki (Haven't watched the show in a while, want to restart but can't get interested enough)
HunterXHunter

And that's about it...

seems far extra like a rat terrier than a jack russell to me. I placed a link to a rat terrier website on the backside so which you will inspect %.... even although, i'm unsure that's what she's blended with. and besides the fact that if she is, then in step with hazard she's blended with something else as nicely? examine it out and notice what you think of. She's lovable and has an clever look approximately her.

hee hee... addicted to Dnangel and Hikaru No Go... i liked the manga Loki Ragnaroff and Magic Knight rayearth for a while. Sargent frog is the awesomest... i like the scitsnophrenic (i cant spell it) one...
Why? Well, for one thing, the guys are hot, and sometimes look like girls, the storylines are totally different than anything in the western world (can you imagine Hikaru no Checkers?!?!?! Lame!!) and the drawing is so much better. There.
