I'm turning 17 on April 1, 2007. The age of consent in Louisiana is 17. I have a G.P.A of a 3.0. I'm a very good student. I don't have a problem with going to school. The only time I get into it with my mother is behind my boyfriend. Help, I'm a desprite teen trapped in a horror movie....and the only thing I want for my birthday is to be able to chill and have fun with my boyfriend. I know my parents don't agree on his age but, I'm almost 17....I'm old enough to go to jail why can't I get other advantages....HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I can guarantee you it is simply because they love you and do not want you doing anything to screw your life up or make wrong choices, their just looking out for you in their best interest and yours....
I'm 20 and i was an ok kid i guess, I started seeing this older guy who my mother did not like nor trust and i just thought he was the world you know and she tried everything to keep me from him, I couldn't hang out with him unless it was behind her back ect but i didn't listen and then guess what???I started to rebel and i left home to be with this guy and messed up my entire life and NOW i aint even with this guy so basically i did it for nothing and wish i didn't..
Look if you don't understand why your mother is doing this then talk to her, she will tell you
Also keep in mind if this guy your dating is older than you watch out because usually they want one thing and one thing only and you will end up getting hurt and that is why your parents are doing this their looking out for you..
Haven't you noticed all the little girls these days getting pregnant??Your parents are trying to keep that from happening to you..You will understand and respect them for this sooner or later, it's all a matter of time

bc most of the time when you are that young relationships dont work out. And family is family, you should respect your mother. I was in the same situation as you, and i regreted leaving. I l ran away at 16, and lived with my 22 year old boyfriend, who cheated on me, and kicked me out 4 months later. Your mom will always take you back, but i wish i could have had those 4 months back. Concentrate on school, and listen to your mom. Or you'll regret it, i know you dont see it now. good luck sweetie

Take a look at all the "am I pregnant" questions on this board - or better yet - "how do I tell my parents I am pregnant" . Your parents love you and want the best for you. Now get that 3.0 up to a 4.0.

You need to listen to your parents. And how old is your boyfriend anyway? Maybe all he wants is sex and that's it. Most guys do at that age. Do you really want to be a single teen mother at 18?

How old is he? You have to understand that your parents still see you as there little girl and thats never going to change. Since you will be legal soon, there isnt anything they can say, just remember to use protection and dont lie to her about anything. She will really hate him if he gets you pregnant.

Think about your actions before you do them if you get prego by this guy he could run away and you would be stuck raising a kid and trying to make it has a single mom finishing highschool and trying to go to college if that is what you want to do.

you are not old enough to go to jail. the age on consent in your state is only for if you and your guy have sex that you can consent to it and he won't have to go to jail. you do not go to jail until you are 18 and a legal adult. you are just going to have to go by their rules until you are 18 and out of their house. it happens to everyone.

ok what i say is if you want to get more advantages like more time with your boyfriend your going to need to not fight with your mom so much. you want to be treated like an adult then you need to act like an adult. im not saying your immature but when your handling things take a more mature approach when solving them. you mom will recognize this new act of maturity and will be more opt to let you do more things. trust me i am 18 and still live with my mom. i know how it is.
