No sure about the Pecan Pie but the best cheese cake would be from either Piece of Cake in Sellwood, just 12 min drive south of Portland across the river.

Pearl Bakery is also great for cheese cake.

Papa Hayden on NW 23rd Ave might have a good pecan pie as might 3 Lions Bakery on NW 3rd and Couch.

I live in Texas now but are from Portland and I can say that Stanford's has the BEST pecan pie I have ever eaten. There is a Stanford's at Jantzen Beach and Lloyd Center.

Prlain on Cornelious Pass Road outside of Hillsboro. It looks a little scanty on the outside, but the guy and his wife have been making pies and cheesecake for over 25 years. They are the best in the state if not the nation. I HIGHLY recomend it. They make all of their pies right there and sometimes they give tours of their factory. Plus the couple is super sweet and do all the orders themselves. You should definately go there!

I was down in Seaside last week for work and ate in a a little Cajun joint (weird for Seaside) called Lil Bayou. For desert, they served up a piece of Sweet Potato Pecan Pie that was really tasy.

Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels just featured some Portland restaurants, one of them being Pearl Bakery. I haven't been there, but it looks good!
