My wife and I are looking to buy land in Japan, Ghana, and the South of Spain/or the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Not all at once, obviously.

Any ideas on which is the easiest way to go about finding out information for land purchases/building material purchases/real estate services in another country?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

The best way to do it is to search the internet and find a "great" realtor in the city in which you want to build. Then call them. They are usually tied into everything very well, and they know all of the specific requirements of the country.

I have done research this way for South Africa, Mexico, and Grand Cayman, and it has worked well.

I have to agree with the above.

The easiest way is an Internet search. Gather as much information as you can to enable you to make informed decisions.

Having someone that you can trust on the ground in the countries you choose is essential: local knowledge is well worth the price.
Another reason is for post-purchase care: you do not want to find yourself having to run around the world taking care of the little things to maintain your investments.
