Can anyone explain the delinquent tax sales in Missouri?

I know it takes 3 years to own the property. But if I pay the back taxes do I have to pay the balance due on the mortgage? And if it is a courthouse steps tax sale is there a mortgage due on those properties?

No, you don't have to pay for the mortgage on a tax sale.
