ok i was talking to to this person and the se that asoue was a true story and i thought that that couldnt be true and the read it sumwer but i was convinsed that it was fiction but now starting to question it so can sum1 please tell me that it isnt true unlesss of course it is

The story itself is fiction. However, it tells a lot of truths about life, society, history, science and many other things. But the Baudelaires are fictional characters, as is Lemony Snicket.

What was the thing, or things, you don't believe to be true? Is it the fact that Dracula used to dip his bread in the blood of people he ordered to be killed? The fact that Lewis the 14th of France wanted his daughter to get married (and be added to the list of about 500 wives) to Ismail the Bloodthirsty of Morocco? Or is it something else?

The most unfortunate event was the whole series being published!
Not just me, but several people I know wonder why it ever got published.
