Yeah this is to let your friends or partner know that you are planning to go to the next game. So it is sort of like a advance notice for them especially if they are the ones who don't like crowded stadium with loud cheering fans. That way, you can say the next time around that you did warned them that you'll be back LOL.

Do we still sing that? At Cincy Reds games, we used to do that at the seventh inning stretch, but now we sing 'God Bless America". I think they've been doing it since 9/11.

Baseball is a interest of traditions. that's one in each of them. purely like making a track the national Anthem till now each and each interest, status and cheering while there are 2 outs in an inning, and so on.
