my question is that how does a "gaming" motherboard really help in gaming , i mean , how can it further enhance the processing power or ram or whatever . Apart from overlocking , what other factors of a gaming motherboard make it better.

Traditionally, if you wanted to game, you needed a gaming motherboard to hold the video card, sound card, and extra needed memory. It is still just a motherboard and nothing more except for what you add to it. It may have a bigger fan to cool it off. But today's computers are making it less of a necessity. If you have a decent sound card, room for lots of memory and a PCIe (express) slot, you should be able to add a great video card and play any game on the market.

Really, a gaming motherboard is usually one that has the options that a gamer would want.

Besides the overclocking options in the bios, they usually have higher quality heatsinks on the board components to prevent them from overheating during OC'ing, SLI capability and more room around the processor socket for bigger heatsinks.

It is the one component that is above the rest in choice to the other hardware which will be housed. From the motherbrd you choose, only then can you choose the other parts components, hardware, software, etc., so depending on how sophisticated a system you so desire, will depend on the quality of mthrbrd you purchase.

good question i dont know what motherboard your talking about, but it could have dual channel ram which makes the most of the ram you have, it could also have higher bus speeds so the things on the end of your busses communicate faster. also it could have newer connections like SATA or PCIe x a really high number it changes every day. but most of the time if you have bags of ram your boss.
