It would cost you around $700 round trip on amtrak. I used Cleveland and Orlando to do the price check, as you did not state what cities. I also listed one child as under two, if all your children are over two, it would be abit more. You can go to http://www.amtrak.com to look it up yourself with more accurate information. Taking the train would be much better than a bus!!

Using the same criteria as above, greyhound was $775. Take the train! so much more comfortable and you can walk around.

Do you have a reliable vehicle? if so, The cost of gas would be between $250 and $300 round trip, figured on 25 mpg, and any lodging on the trip, which would probably avg $65 per night.

Meals/food packed would be additional in all of above scenarios.

Looking on http://www.priceline.com, you could fly for as little as $850-$1,000 with a good deal. Would be well worth it for the little price differential over train/bus.

So, you are looking at a minimum of $1,000 all inclusive for round trip via public transportation, and minimum of $500 if traveling by car and staying just one night each direction at a motel, and packing your own food.

If you drive you could do it in 2plus days easy spending the night 2 times in a motel 8 or one of the inexpensive motels. I am assuming you would want to stop nightly for the sake of the kids. Allow for gas and eating both ways also. Would you stay with them when you got there or check into a hotel? I would say a good estimate would be $1000.00 to be safe and you would probably have money left over if you are frugal.
