common to feel insecure in a new situation? And wonder if you are being appropriate or not?

Oh trust me, I know weirder. You didn't do anything wrong and there's no sense of normal anywhere anyways. Trust me. I've been looking a long time. There is no such thing as a functional family either. Yes, you're weird and I can say that because it takes on to know one.
