I know every baby is different. Just curious.

My daughter just went to the doc yesterday, so I have a growth chart right in front of me. The 50% for a three month old would be 11.5-11.75lbs.

My daughter weighed 7lb 4.5oz at birth and 11lb 14oz at 12 weeks.

Hope that helps, although as other have said, it can vary enormously, Everything can affect weight, from what gestational age the baby was at birth to whether they are breast or bottle fed, any illnesses, height of baby, sex or baby, size of parents, anything.

I'd say the spectrum for an average weight baby (7.5lbs) born at full term (40 weeks) with no health problems and average size parents is still anywhere from 10-14lbs.

The variations can be huge.

you're right. every baby is different.
a baby that is 23 inches long @ 3 months is obviously going to weigh more than a baby who is 22 inches long @ 3 months.

my daughter was big to begin with.....9lbs and 7 oz at birth. so by 3 months she was around 13 lbs! she was the cutest chunkiest baby. then when she started crawling and gaining mobility she leveled off and thinned out.

kids hit their growth spurts at different times.

OH my gosh it varies SO much. I currently have two 3 month old babies in my in-home daycare...one is a boy who weighs a whopping 18.5lbs and the other is a girl who weighs just over 11lbs. My little girl was about 13lbs at 3 months old. So really it's hard to say what's "normal".

My son was 8 lbs even when born and he is now 3 months and weighs approx. 14 lbs. At 10 weeks, 2 weeks ago, he weighed 13 lbs 10 oz. But he's in the 90th percentile for both his height and weight.

Wow I am glad i saw this one cause i often wonder if my boys weight is ok. He is 3 months now too and weighs 11lb....but he was small baby to start(6.1 lb) with so I guess he is growing well.

as you say all babies are different - but attached is a great site to find the "growth charts" that Dr's use to track the growth of infants.
