Also can I have an Algae Sucking fish in a tank full of barbs?

All barbs are a little different, some are very calm and peaceful, others kinda rowdy. The tiger barb is the bad boy of the bunch being the most likely not to get along in a tank of other fish. Most other smaller common barbs, like checker boards, golden barbs, even things the size of spanner barbs are usually peaceful. To be most careful, keep barbs in a group of 6-8 or their own kind and that will really help prevent any bad behavior.

As long as they are in schools (4 or more), they are fine. This tends to calm them down... or spread out agressiveness...however you want to look at it. And yes, it would be fine to have an algea eater in there with them.
