If you think you're pregnant, don't take it. There is very little you can for a cold when you're pregnant... Tylenol and regular Sudafed is about it.

Yes it does! I'm on my final pair of touch lenses--they're now a few months historical and had been meant to be disposed of after a month. But by the point I discovered I was once pregnant it was once too overdue to even try to make an eye fixed appointment. I'm due in December, so those lenses are going to have got to pass some distance!

Well, if you are pregnant, any medicine can affect the baby, but i would say Robitussin DM, that's the only thing my Doctor told me i'm allowed to take since i'm pregnant. And if you aren't pregnant it won't affect your chances of having a baby. But, if you're a little 'iffy' about taking anything, which i know we all are, just try some vicks vapo-rub (or the generic brand, just as good!) that'll help you out alot! :) Take care and good luck! :)

Vicks 44 is a Category C drug, which means it has caused negative effects on test animal fetus, but there have been no conclusive results based on human studies.
The site I went to www.safefetus.com was recommended by my doctor and it also says of Vicks 44 "Limited human data but reported to be safe in pregnancy and together with guaifenesin (guaiphenesin) are the preferred antitussives in pregnant women." So it sounds like most doctors would recommend this drug.
You may want to call your doctor to be sure, since it is a Category C drug, which are usually drugs doctors tell you to avoid while pregnant.
My guess is that it is safe in in moderate quantities.

If there is a possibility you are pregnant, then you shouldn't take any over the counter medication without speaking to your OBGYN!

When I was pregnant, my OB recommended Robitussin. Tastes disgusting, but it is okay if you are pregnant.

cough syrups have alcohol in them and you are not suppose to take them while pregnant.
you can take Sudafed.
if you have a lot of sinus blockage you can also use a vaporizor or take mucinex.

Dextromethorphan has not been studied in pregnant women, so there's no way to know. If in doubt, don't do it.
