my 2 and a half month old baby has these dreams that make her wake up screaming and crying, sometimes so bad that I can't get her to calm down for a long time. she has never seen anything to scare her that bad so I dont know what could be causing this to happen. they get so bad she wont go back to sleep. I want to know how or if I can do anything to prevent this from happing.

If your baby was older, I'd suggest that she was teething. I think some babies have nightmares of being left alone and not cared for after being subjected to the Ferber method (crying it out). Otherwise, she could have gas pains or maybe she's hungry or something else.

it's not nightmares
baby's this age dont have nightmare

your baby is just upset she woke up
or she needs something
i could be anything from she's cold to the tag on her clothes is bugging her to it's to dark to the obvious of hunger and diaper

it's just the age

there's nothing can be done to prevent it
most baby's dont sleep through the night but only for a couple of hours

I was going to say night terrors, but then I re-read your question and saw she is only 2.5 months old. She probably has gas/upset tummy. Are you burping her until she actually burps? Some babies are stubborn with their burps. I used to have to burp my baby for 20 minutes before she would gimme a belch.

I would say it is not nightmares, but instead gas, hunger or diaper changing time.

Babies generally cry for those reasons at that age.

I know it sounds stupid, but my mom and my grandmother always told me to cover my baby's feet when they are sleeping.
