The first prom I went to I wore a strapless royal blue gown with an empire waist and a bit of glitter on the chest. It tied up the back and was quite low.
The second prom I went to I wore a lavender dress which was layered with a black so it ended up being a darker purple. It had spaghetti straps and an empire waist that fabric draped down from.
Both dresses were an A-line; I didn't want anything too poofy but I wanted something formal.

It was SOOO many years ago! LOL! May 1996. I wore a silver satin dress that was off the shoulders, extended sleeves that looked a little like gloves, splits on either side that went to mid-thigh, and silver pumps. My date didn't even know what I was wearing and dressed to match. Black tux with white dress shirt, silver bow tie and silver cumberbun. We looked cute! Of course he turned out to be a jerkface, but that's okay, cuz I got my dance on and we did have fun!
