How do I tell my friends and family "I'm Gay"?

Please I need the help of another homosexual man not a gay hating christian

I'm just 14 so I would appreciate help from either an older homosexual or someone who has already come out

First off, don't listen to the first guy, he's warped.

I am in my 30's and came out 10 years ago, so I will tell you from first hand experience that I know how difficult it is.

First, make sure it is safe where you live and go to school. Even though it is 2007 I know a lot of gay-bashing still goes on.

Second, perhaps you consider telling a very close friend first...just one person. Try it out, and have a friend (straight or gay) be at your side through the process. I found that the closer I was to somebody, the harder it was to tell them but the more they supported me once I did.

Third, once you have a comrade to be by your side, and you know it's safe, it's a matter of courage and timing. Mentally prepare yourself for both positive and negative responses, and mentally prepare yourself for it to be a process of acceptance on your friend's and family's part. If it's taking you time to accept it, so it goes for them too.

Fourth, be nice to yourself. It's hard to love yourself at any age, but give yourself a break along the way, ok?

I can tell you that you will be ok if you keep your wits about you. After going through it years ago, I having loving friends, family, career, a full life, and I like myself pretty much too. Being gay is just a part of who I am, it doesn't even fully define me.

You should not come out unless you know it is safe. The streets are choked with 14 year old runaways whose parents made life awfull for them after comming out. If you really KNOW KNOW that your parents are cool, then YES- by all means, do come out-- because an honest life is wonderful & enjoyable & productive. But if you are not sure about your safety, then bide your time, and come out when you go away to college.

Try to live a normal, decent, respectful life. You only get one. Don't let perverted men ruin you. Let God mold you into His image.
For a young man to be lured into being used by perverts is NOT decent.
Learn to grow up and you yourself raise up virtuous, good and Godly children.
These freaks only want to use you like a cheap prostitute. Any GOOD person would advise you to RUN....FAST.
Fight those unGodly urges. Overcome! You can do it!

It's like when someone calls you rude when you say something they don't like. I can say something you don't agree with in a nice way.
Christians do not HATE anyone (real ones anyway)
Seek help for your mental condition. Find in your heart why the opposite sex repulses you. Seek God and His justice and find peace.
