close seconds are scarface, fargo, seven, usual suspects, silence of the lambs, snatch and pulp fiction.

Everyone has their own opinion and here is mine:
Splendor In The Grass. Why - the subject matter for the movie was ahead of it's time. Also very good performances by Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty. Elia Kazan is a brilliant director.

Titanic, because it was an awesome story, that was true(except maybe the story of Jack and Rose) but for the most part it was a true story. Also the special effects in the move were great. I still love this movie.

Hard to compare genres though. There are some Marx Bros movies that are hard to beat for laughs.

'Gone With the Wind', it has everything you can ask for in a movie (minus aliens and car chase). Scarlet is my fave female character ever. She was as hardcore as any gangster in any movie and that was in 1939!
