Have you ever run a business? Your absolutely crazy if you think employers hire immigrants over uneducated Americans because they work cheap and have "less communication" skills. Let me list the multitude of reasons many employers prefer immigrants to Americans:

1) Americans think that if they were born in the United States they are entitled to a job. Immigrants do not.

2) Immigrants show up for work.

3) Immigrants want to work.

4) Immigrants have not be neutered by years of entitlement programs.

5) Immigrants do not believe that a job is beneath them.

6) Immigrants are polite.

7) Immigrants understand that work is an opportunity - not a burden.

I own an interior decorating business and would love it if Americans would adhere to the same principals of work as the immigrants. I pay wages that are consistently higher than average, offer subsidized health and dental, and have a generous vacation policy. I also provide emergency baby sitting services to my employees and have negotiated with a local day care provider for lowered rates for my employees in exchange for services. In exchange, if I'm on a construction site and there is garbage to be picked up I expect it to be done without asking. If a client wants to repaint their walls twelve different times - I expect it to be done without complaint. Find me an American who understands "service." Quite frankly, most Americans that I hire tend to resent the wealthy clients that hire my firm.

I was really shocked. I had always heard we have a 99% literacy rate, but according to a study, 21% in the US have less than a 5th grade education. One in five! And, it's not because of immigration(I see those responses already). The large majority were born here. I'm worried.

You are missing the point. Those 40,000,000 DON'T WANT TO WORK. They want to figure out a way for you and me to support them through welfare, food stamps, disability checks, etc.

The only thing they want to do is make babies, watch TV, play video games and smoke dope.

If they were REALLY interested in working and making a live for themselves, they would stay in school or learn a trade or something.
