XFX Geforce 6800-XTREME 256MB DDR3

I would like it for a older computer with an AGP port. Can any provide any feedback regarding this card?

I'm running a 6800 Ultra on a Hyper Threading 3.2GHz p4 and it'll run just about anything, the extremes are pretty quick, and unless you go for really high resolutions and maximum anti-alaising you should be fine with it.

Well, I do like XFX cards. Their warranties are good as well.

The old 6800 cards are not bad for the AGP standard, but you need to have a pretty fast processor to get full benefit out of that card.

it was a good card a year ago but since were talking about agp then yes it is a good card. though there are better ones out now for agp like the nvidia 7800 or ati x1900. but the 6800 will do if your talking about running DOOM3 or half-life 2

xfx have just won a award for their excellent range of cards so these cards are a good buy
i have allways used ge-force cards as they are user -freiendly and easy to configure
the geforce 6800-extreme is a very good card, its only around 3 years old and has some very good specs including
pixel and shader model 3.0
256mb of video memory
12 pixel pipelines
agp x 8 interface
the 6800 is also avalible in pci-express interface but its probally one of the best agp cards you can buy,the card sometimes requires a power supply so make sure you have a spare 5v molex connector, and also check to see what your power supply units(p.s.u) rating is,a p.s.u of 350watt and above is normally required to run the 6800
also check you have the correct agp interface(x8) as agp slots start from x1 and then go to x2,x4,but the 6800 will only run on the x8 interface
older agp interfaces are normally brown in colour and have no white locking clip like the newer type of agp, also the slots are differnet in configuration so the 6800 wont even fit in it,never mind work
programs such as 3d mark(http://www.futuremark.com/download/) can give you the required info you need as well as a benchmark test to check your cards performance
a good site to buy geofrce cards from is overclockers(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-035-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411),and as you see the 6800 is quite a inexpensive card,in fact i may get one myself (for my 2nd system)
good choice mate
good luck

For most games it will more than suffice, you may have to drop the resolution and/or detail levels on the LATEST games, but most will run a dream on this card.

Basically; latest games = latest hardware !

I wouldn't say no to it though!
