When did you consider yourself / realize to have fully "grown-up" into maturity?

What "pushed" you into accepting the fact that you are an adult?
(i.e. birth of your son / daughter; death of loved ones like parents / grandparents; meeting your true love / soul mate; getting your first important job, etc.)

Was it hard for you to accept that you had to move on and let go of your "childhood" ways? Did you realize this by yourself or did someone (i.e. mom, dad, etc.) make you realize?

I was 17 (still a baby to myself) and I had moved out to go to college. I was sitting in my apartment and I hated my room mates. That's when I realized I had to suck it up and deal with it because I was on my own and mom and dad couldn't fix it. I didn't like it at first but I love being on my own (with my husband) now!

Painful experiences can be positive, and make you a deeper and more understanding person. The beautiful experiences are positive and they give strength and Faith to face the painful experiences, if I had avoided the painful experiences, I would have lost the beautiful ones, and my spirit would have died.
As far as the Maturity..I am still growing.

When I first figured out that my parents weren't as stupid as I thought. It was even confirmed more when I had kids and I started hearing their voices, sayings, attitudes, come out of my mouth.
