Ive tried everything under the sun for my son who is teething. He still screams like crazy till his next dose of tylenol. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what else works when they are screaming? Im at my wits end with the screaming.

I know the screaming is all a part of the teething process. How long after all the major pain do the teeth ussually come in? You can tell where they are but the gums are kinda a whitish color and not a pink like alot of things say. Hes has been screaming the past few days when the tylenol starts to wear off and all he wants to do is bite my hand.

Yes, just been throught that myself, 4 teeth all at once, two on the top and two on the bottom. Im afraid to say that this is something that we can only try and soothe, my baby wouldnt even take the bottle she was so sore. I recommend something cold for him to chew on, perhaps but a wet clean washcloth in the freezer and let it freeze then let him chew on it to numb his gums a bit, goodluck.

There was something in the paper the other day with a newborn that was born with 2 front teeth. Sorry you just reminded me of that. My son was quite quick at walking, crawling and teething. At 2 & a half now he's just completely fearless and daring with climbing, jumping etc. That said he wasn't as quick as some of the other children at talking so it seemed to balance out overall. To be honest though all kids catch up eventually, some are quick at some things and slower at others. You obviously have a curious child eager to explore the world around them. Enjoy this time because its just wonderful watching them learn and grow.

You can try that Motrin. childrens. But instead of him takining rub it on his gums because the orajel bay stuff doesnt help the pain it just numbs it. Where as the motrin helps pain and reduce the fever. Good Luck.
Remember rub it on his gums. And my uncle, not going to hurt them kids seem to like anyway, used to give his grand kids dog jerky it helps break through faster so maybe give him some of those every once and a while to help bring his teeth through more. I promise it won't harm you baby I wouldn't tell you.

Hyland teething tablets are supposed to work really well and they are homeopathic ...so you can give him more when it starts hurting again
Also Orajel works
Also put a damp wash cloth in the freezer for a bit...and then let him chomp on that
Also rub his gums...counter pressure helps relieve the pain.
Also (depending on how old he is) you can freeze snacks like banana or melon and let him gum on that

I would have to agree and say the HYLAND Teething tablets. 3 or 4 helps, and they are safe. I was worried that he might choke, but I forgot, homeopathics disolve really quick. My other big thing was that my son hated the orajel, and caused a few big bites on my hand. So we stick to the Hylands. On days when it is worse, or when it really starts to kick in, we give him tylonol. Dont forget lots of cool chew teethers. those work wonders too.
Good Luck!!!

ok i will tell you what i learned when my kid was teething. orajel hardens the gums. i was told by the doctor. you can try to rub a lil bendryl on your clean finger and then rub the gums. also there is a script that the babys dr. can give. i was once told this but never tried it. crisco and rub it on the gums ( i never tried it ). again i used orajel when alexis was teething and it had hardened up her gums so much that her tooth couldn't even pop out until she was 15months old. so imagine having to deal with the pain and crying until 15 months old. i was also told about teething tablets also never tried it. after what happened with the orajel i just took her to a treater- healer. i never tried anything after that. so try to find a real healer-treater in your area ( what you got to lose )

Infant Motrin. Cold was cloth and your clean finger rubbing the gums. You can try baby Oragel too.
If he is old enough you can give him a big carrot to bit down on just watch nothing breaks off.

Depends on the age, but if he's old enough, try frozen peas (one at a time). He can roll them around on his gums, and they are small enough to be okay if swallowed whole. Again, depends on the age.

I haven't tried it, but I was told to give my daughter frozen waffles. She's old enough for food, so if she swallow some, it's okay.
