My friend is offering me his Xbox 360 for 150$. If I buy this, can I buy a harddrive seperately and attatch it, if so, how much is it? Would it be cheaper to buy the system from my friend + the harddrive seperately, or just buy the premium package for 400$?

I say buy it on the condition that he lets you use it for a day to test it out. X-BOX systems have a long history of issues. It might have a problem with overheating, or there might be a problem with the disk reader, etc.

-He could easily sell it for more than that on E-bay. So you have to try and figure out why he is offering it to you for so little. Is he strapped for cash? Is he just too lazy to offer it on ebay (writing the ad, shipping it, responding to email questions, etc). Or...is there something wrong with the system? Once you know WHY he is selling it, then make the decision.

I wouldn't buy his 360, for a 150$ more you'll have a new one with the harddrive already attached, and most of the older 360's have significant issues that are not worth inheriting from a potential ex-friend. Not to mention his controller probably has wires.

I'd go with testing it for a day, if he lets you. If it doesn't work go out an buy the $400 version.

If you don't feel like paying $400 Amazon.com has some great deals I was looking at the other day.

$372 New
$340 Used

you could get it for about 260-ish. Used.

Or if you're willing to wait, if you want one badly. I'm pretty sure they have one coming out in April, and it has a bigger hard drive, and it goes for like $479.

But you'll have to do some looking to that.

the hard drive is 100 bucks, so your looking at 250, not bad at all if his system is working...
