I'm driving from Denver and want to see other parks, but I've heard Yellowstone is the worthwhile to spend more time at than most parks.

That's basically because there's so much to see at Yellowstone. I was in a caravan of about 25 people and we spent three days there, and 1/2 a day in the Grand Tetons. We did a lot of driving around from one location to another, and because half the people in the group were teenagers or younger, we weren't able to stay in one place long enough before someone complained of being bored.

It is such a geological and ecological wonder, with the geysers and bubbling sulfur fields, the forests and fields teeming with wildlife. Obviously, if you're pressed for time because you want to go to other parks, you could go to the National Park Services website and plan your attack in advance.
