Keaton and Bale are the beat to pick one it would be hard.
Keaton had the batman thing down in the 80's but bale brings a new light on the character.
Adam west was goofy and i and that was a great thing about the old show.
But as far as the best i will see what Bale bring in The Dark Night (the sequal to batman begins)

Well it's a toss up between Val Kilmer and George Clooney. Of course the original was the best Adam West.

Live action I have to say Christian Bale.

Mike Keaton was horribly miscast for the role as was George Clooney. Val Kilmer was alright, but the movie was horrible.

If were talking animated, then I would definitely say the Emmy award winning Batman the Animated series and Justice League Unlimited versions with Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman to the BEST!

The new Batman series on Kids WB sucks ballz.

Michael Keaton did a wonderfull job,
But I like Christian Bale the best.
In order to have a good charater for batman you have to have some one that can play both parts as Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Just look at Kevin Conroy he did a excellent job of the cartoon batman, he had the dark mysterious voice as Batman and the hyper go lukcy friendly guy as Bruce Wayne

christian bale revived the batman series its better with more dramatic flair to it then the old batman series...adam west was good for his time as for the others i think michael keaton was good george clooney is eye candy and kilmer was just another jim morrison in costume smoking the wacky weed...=)

Its between Keaton or Bale. I'm leaning more towards Christian Bale though. I just don't like his voice when he's in his Batman Character. It seems unnecessary and way too cheesy.

Well I'm gonna stick with the modern era here.

I can tell you who its not, and that's Mr. Clooney...worst batman ever.

I'd probably give it to Christian Bale to be perfectly honest...its a close one between him and Michael Keaton.
