im not sure. i think if they informed the person they were under 18 and they were contacted by the person then okay yea its great. but if nbc contacted the person first and didnt tell them they were under 18 that just seems like they are trying to get folks into trouble. i dunno how do internet stings work?

To Catch a Predator by 60 minutes? It is 60 minutes, right? I have watched it several times and YES, it's fair. The men that are out there searching for young girls and boys to have sex with should all be locked up. I think what this news team is doing is wonderful, I just wish they did it in every state and it was an every day/every night deal. They always mention on their emails to the predator that the victim is under 18 yrs of age. ALWAYS..it is 100% legite.

This is a very real concern in our society. The exploitation of minors requires immediate action. I don't think that it is right to allow them to prowl about unnoticed and unseen. Nothing could be more devastating than losing a child to a predator. I read somewhere that on average, most of these people will commit this crime an average of 168 times before they are caught. For every one they stop, there are 167 other acts out there, unresolved. I think, by any means possible, they should continue this effort.
You are aware that NBC does this every year, they are aware that NBC does this every year. Yet, they continue to 'play the odds.' They know there are sting operations through the internet and they continue to behave in this manner, undeterred. What does that tell you?

FYI the host of the NBC show "To Catch a Predator" is Chris Hansen. And I think that he does wonderful work with getting pedafiles off the streets. Men and women alike. Anytime an adult activitly persues an underage minor, after the fact that they have been informed by the minor that they are indeed underage, deserves everything that the law will allow. Why would anyone purposely pursue a minor? Stick with someone your own age or don't date at all!!!!!!!!

it is fair. it isnt entraptment, because as they said on the perverted justice website, its the men who always make the first contact, the sting operations just set up a SN w/ a profile that looks like a minors, and the men always send the first IM. if the sting operation were to make the first contact, it would be entraptment.

It's fair. The people they are trying to catch are sick perverts. Some of them don't even think they're in the wrong for wanting to have sex with little kids. That's seriously sick. They deserve a lot worse than what they get.

There's something about any entrapment that makes me queasy. And it is entrapment, the crime is set up as a sting no matter how you spin it. It's just something I could never be part of. And I especially have never liked those type of people that set entrapment's. They seem like pukes...Is it just me ?
