now that winter is gone I have ants everywhere in my bathroom and laundry room. I dont know why, its not like theres food in either of those places. I am constantly cleaning both rooms and they still come back. I have the ant traps that has the poisonous food that they supposedly take back to their colony and die off but they end up dieing right there in both rooms. Its like they find my house and they dont want to leave. What could be the cause of them and what can I use to get rid of them?

I'd use a residual bug killer too. They are sprays that you spray around windows, walls, etc that stay there and when the ants walk through it, they'll be killed. There are some indoor/outdoor ones so you could even prevent them from getting inside. I think Ortho makes one.

I don't know what's causing them though, sorry.

I don't know what's causing them, but here are a few tips you can try.
1) Sprinkly sage or white pepper around the affected areas in crevices & cupboards.
2) Create a border of mothballs around the site. It's supposed to help get rid of them.
3) Leave apple pieces, cores or peelings where the ants enter. The acid in the apple is supposed to kill the queen & the colony when they take it back to their anthill

Good luck!!

This sounds kind of crazy... but I sprinkled black pepper around the baseboards in my kitchen and the ants never came back. Try to find where they're coming in from and sprinkle pepper in that area. I also got some of those ant traps and they seemed to work pretty well too.

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water.

I use a couple of boxes of Grant Kills Ants and put them around the periphery of my house, and then spray with Raid. Whenever I see ants I just spray. You don't need a lot! Just a real quick spray will do it. And I also spray with Raid along the periphery about once ever couple of weeks. It works.

The ingredient aspartane was formulated to attact ants, and they eat it and take it to their nest and they die. Aspartane is found commonly in sugar sweetners like sweet n low and Equal. It is sweet so they carry it home.

It works without hassle.

Don't pesticide yourself to death.
