I would strongly advise you to plan very well you overnight at Grand Canyon and then going to Vegas.

You do have to make arrangement ahead about Grand Canyon. There is only a few lodges to stay and they control the amount of people in and out of the park. You do have to book ahead because they are full all year round.

Now about Vegas. Are you going to drive or you will flight?
If you are driving, from Grand Canyon to Las Vegas is about four hours and half driving. The view is beautiful, you will see the Hoover Dam, but is a long drive so if you are doing this trip in a hurry you might not enjoy as much.
In LAs Vegas there are a lot of hotels, entertainment and shows.
It depends of what you want to watch. If you want to see Celine Dion you do have to book in advance because her show is sold out everynight. Shows like the Moulin Rouge and Crazy Horse too.

Shows like the Magician Lance Burton you can get a ticket same day, Usually they are not sold out.

Anyway You do have to Book the Grand Canyon. I would encourage you to book something at Las Vegas. Figure out the driving or flying from Grand Canyon to Vegas otherwise you will be behind your schedule.

Summertime is really busy here in Vegas, and depending on if we are having any special events at the time it may be impossible to get into anything. I would reccomend that you book everything that you can as soon as possible.

Shows hardly ever get cancelled without notice so don't worry about losing out on money

hi,
it is definitely recommended that you book everything that you can in advance, you might end up paying less and you want to make sure that events and shows are not sold out. i own a travel business(an escape to remember ) and if you go to my site(www.ytbtravel.com/nwallace) there is a Ticketmaster and you can book shows etc in advance, also flights, car and limo rentals, hotels, resorts, cruises, and lots more. the prices are comparable and sometimes cheaper than other on-line booking sites. so please take a look and if you have any questions i would be happy to answer them.

You are definitely better to book ahead. The sooner the better. On occasion you will find last minute deals but they are rare. Same goes for the shows. Book now.

Online is best.
