Let's see if I can answer all your questions:

1. Dating is not good because high school's almost over and you don't want to be stuck in a distant relationship.

2. Getting a driver's license is ok.

3. Parent's are happy- they probably like to see their child grow up happily and see have much they've raised us.

4. 16 is fun but too much school gets in the way.

5. You can get a family phone but then it's yours if only your parents allow it.

6. I don't know where you live so I can't answer the cell phone questions.

As a mom of three teenagers, I can tell you that being 16 is not much different from being 15. I didn't let my oldest son date till he was 16 so I guess that is a good age to start dating. He also took his drivers test when he turned 16. Most things go along with how mature you are when you turn 16. If you stay up till the middle of the night and you have school, you will be so tired so I don't recommend it. Weekends are ok though. As for cell phones, I recommend getting a prepaid phone like a verizon impulse. With it you get free nights after 9 and free mobile to mobile to other verizon phones. The cards for the phone range from 15 to 100 dollars. Finally, don't be in such a rush to grow up. It will happen sooner than you think and your parents want only to keep you their little one as long as they can.

16 is not as big of a deal as you are thinking. I started dating when I was 14, so 16 is not too early to think about that. In fact, 16 is the perfect age for dating. And for your drivers test, there is no better time than the fall. It'll be perfect. I stay up as late as I want too, but I have to be in my house by eleven on a week night & eleven-thirty on the weekends. Just be careful as far as school goes. You get used to staying up late. Just make sure you are awake and able to focus when you have to. Cell phones usually run about 50-60 dollars a month. But if you get added on to your parents plan, it'll only cost them an extra 10 dollars. Also, I love being my age!!

I am the mother of a 15 yr old, who's 16th birthday is aug 3rd, by the way.She too is planning on taking her driver's test and I guess whether or not it's a good idea depends on where you live ....we live in the south where it doesn't snow so there's really no problem....an early snow would be my only concern about the fall....she just got her first job with a permit...therefore i got her a prepaid cell phone ....that way she can only use the minutes she's paid for and not run up a huge bill....I pretty much let her go to bed when she wants .....but i still supervise all of her activities and friends.....being 16 is great ...I wish I could go back......your life is just beginning.....you have your whole life ahead of you...don't be too anxious to grow up ....life sucks after school...enjoy being young and having no responsibilities while you can....as for dating.....wait.....if you are still pure at your age congratulations....stay that way...you have plenty of time for that too....and unfortunately boys at this age only have one thing on their minds and it isn't love and being with one girl for the rest of their lives...be friends hang out...but nothing serious.....until you get out of school.....good luck and have a happy sweet sixteen

being 16 is way overrated, my parents dont judge me on age, but on maturity. personally, i dont like being a teen. being a teen, the world is your oyster, but you cant pry it open
