The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.

Yea, thats the real prayer. But we cannot desist from the evil inside of us, and we fall again and again, so what ''real'' prayer are you talking about ?
With the situation in question, perhaps our real prayer would only come with our last breath, that single last moment, when we pray ''forgive me, and take me with you'', (to whoever we see at that moment, i mean the higher power, and not anyone human) and thats when it would be real.

I have applied for a "Permit to Pray" and have tried bribing Father Jones. Didnt receive a reply yet. Also on my application I have asked for proper "prayer protocol" and designated times for "prayer submission". The fella will not respond. My prayers are in a trust and will be dispatched as soon as instructions are received. Rumors are the deadline for submitting the first batch of prayers is before the expiry date on ones life. Seems like I still have a while to send that first installment.

Chandrasekharan k's answer is perfect. We should pray everyday minimum twice - Before you start a new day and before you go to sleep at the end of the day. Morning to thank our God for giving you the privilege to live in such a beautiful world for one more day and to request the help to meet anything that comes your way that day wisely. Also protection for your job, income, loved ones etc. To help you live a better life and give you strength to overcome your weaknesses or change it to your strengths. At night to thank him for still keeping you safe and alive and to protect you and your family during the night. Everything is possible only through God.

To fight against trials and tribulations without temptation to yield evil. Then starts our real prayer without falling into deep abyss.

I believe God looks to our strivings. Our soals. There are people who are very good and do many wonderful things and they do it on a pedestal so that everyone may see. According to scripture, this is not impressive to God.
We are all pathetic ragamuffins. Admit it. Embrace it. God wants to be our strength. Come to Him in brokeness. Don't put up any fronts, He sees through them anyway.

when you have gathered enough self-esteem by being morally upright to ask God to do you a favor, then start praying . In the bible, it is said, God hides his face away from sinners and unworthy.
I think it'll be a futile effort to keep praying when God is not looking at us face and face and listen to us.

SIN
Self Inflicted Nonsense
God does not want me to "behave" out of fear.
I pray every morning in the shower. And then several more times throughout the day as it comes up.

when anyone can prove that praying has any real effect other than psychologically, I will consider partaking of this childish activity.
BTW there isn't any god that is out there waiting or listening to prayer/
