I feel as if I am hard done by today - exhausted. My day began with taking my lazy dog for a twenty minute walk. Coming home and tidying a three bedroom bungalow top to bottom. Waiting for a Joiner to do alterations. Went to library and bank and quick shop. Made endless cups of tea and done endless dishes for all and sundry. Made stir fry and bbq ribs for lunch for two people. Fed dog twice also and endless bowls of water. Tidied up shavings etc., from joiner and polished and vac bedroom again. Hung new curtains and changed furniture around in bedroom. Made dinner for one (bloke) and took endless phone calls - this is all what comes to mind. Oh I even picked a can up off the drive and re-cycled it. My guy comes home and thats about 2pm and says he is tired (politely). Oh yes and I took delivery of a TV and placed it where I want it. Did he get up to help in any of these - what do you think he is a man. Supper to do yet for him and tomorrow I am babysitting my sons house.

alot of the things you listed you wanted to do..you could have not changed the furnature around he probally could care less if the end table was to the right or to the left the library was also a choice...the curtains I am almost 99.9 percent positive was something you probally suggested..so why are you sitting there complaining how much work you have to do when he probally goes to work each morning...works his rear end off trying to provide for you the high life....god women these days make the rest of us look lazy and ungrateful...why not try doing something that is realy for him...if he likes sports maybe investigate when his favorite team is in town and get tickets..or if he likes viedo games maybe take the time to do something he wants and join in with him...try doing things for him bc most of the stuff you listed was cosmetic for you

Just reading all that makes me tired. At my house, if my sweetie is hungry, he knows where the kitchen is. If he runs out of clean underwear, he's a big boy and he knows how to wash his shorts and put his own laundry away. If the room isn't tidy enough and it bothers him, he'll get off his duff and tidy it up. If I come home and there's something untidy that's bugging me, I clean it. But we also both work full time jobs, and there are many days where we would rather cuddle on a couch in a cluttered living room watching movies than clean house. It's all a matter of priorities.

Also, if your occupation is "housewife" then you can expect to do a lot around the house while the man brings home the bacon. Here's a time-saving trick I learned from my grandmother (a widowed airforce captain's wife):

Sit down with a good book or watch your shows, enjoy your afternoon, let the kids be kids. Then before he gets home, tidy up a bit so that to the untrained eye the place looks tidy. Throw the toys in the toy box, wipe the dirt off the kids. Then open a bottle of Pine-Sol and walk around the house with it, letting the Pine Sol smell waft about the house. Sprinkle a little into the sinks and toilets. The house will smell like you've spent all day scrubbing and he won't know the difference!

It's reasons like this that the female of the species is always more deadly than the male. We're smarter.

Now, if you're a working gal then it is not your job to also take care of the whole house yourself, in my opinion, in this day and age. You can share responsibilities in the home the same way you share financial responsibility.

Where I am, it is only 1:30 pm! Here is my day:

Played a bit of poker with some friends until 2 am. Then, I woke up at 7:30 to dress for work and feed the pets. At work, I have answered phones to hear complaints, filed medical records, readied medical evaluations for the postman to deliver, gathered and checked 30 medical charts for paperwork, hunted for missing paperwork, bit more filing, preparing the doctor's office to see patients tomorrow, used my lunch break to run some errands (banking, grocery, etc.). Once I get off work at 5 pm, I must go home and prepare to report to the Guard Station on Saturday (I'm in the Army). Then, work out for a few hours before tidying up the house, cooking dinner, feeding the pets, running a few more errands, and finally settling down to play some poker again tonight.

So far this today I have done : paper work, market research,
Put on new advertising lettering onto one of our work trucks, fired up the boiler, put dishes away, cut stickers out of one cats tail, removed all the bird houses off my collector shelf, washed and prepped shelving for paint job.

In the next 8 hours I will do laundry, make supper, do dishes, go over the mail, make out more job statements ie paperwork, prep mail for tomorrow, do more market research, sit here and answer useless drivel, make sun catchers with mirror pieces and try not to cut an arm off while doing it, make hubby's lunch for tomorrow, let the dogs and cats out numerous time and then retire to the bedroom to watch TV till about midnight.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh life is good !!

: )

Woke up. Changed. Figured out why smoke was billowing from toaster. Made and ate breakfast. Brushed teeth and hair and applied makeup. Went to school. Chatted with friends. Went to English and worked on Hamlet. Went to math and sped through test. Went to mall on spare period and had coffee in bookstore. Came back to school. Talked with student council president about meeting he couldn't go to. Went to McDonald's with friends. Came back to school again. Spent some time on computer. Went to geography and played weird mapping game. Went home. Changed. Got on computer.

My day started at 1am (woke up thanks to my neighbours, they were having a party). Went back to sleep at 3am, woke up again at 7am. Got ready for work (with a migrane due to lack of sleep). Started taking calls and more calls and complaints and more complaints (I've now learned how to complain thanks to all these lovely complainers). Had an argument with a charity place (doesn't sound right but believe me I was on the right). They then phoned me to apologise.
Came home, tidied up a bit as the house looked like a battlefield, started dinner, then did all the dishes. Then I'm going to do the ironing and have another load of washing to do. My husband: playing with his PS2 all the time.

Got up, and got kids up and ready for school, took them to school. Came home tidy up, hoover, wash and dry breakfast pots and have a quick coffee.Fed cats and emptied litter tray. Went up to weight watchers, and then went to work [school dinner lady]. Went to my sister's for a sandwich and a chat, [first I've had to eat all day]. Went to collect my daughter from school, went for a bit of shopping. Got back home, and started cooking tea. now that the tea plates are washed and dried, I have come to sit down for a well earned rest.
