Ipod Question...?

If I update my ipod via a windows computer, so in windows format, can i plug it into a mac computer to use it as a external hardrive without messing up any of the files onj it?

P.S. this mac does have itunes !!!

No, not without reformatting it. It's unfortunate, but you're dealing with two different platforms.
