Which kinds of dunks do ya'll like? The ones where players dunk the ball and quickly more away their hand from the rim or the dunks that players hold onto the rim and bring it down. Or the Shaq like dunks where they bring the entire backboard slighty down.

I don't mean hanging on a long time. But just hanging on after dunking for less than a second. Alot of players just flush the ball down really fast without even touching the rim.

The reason why no one holds on to the rim anymore is because they made a rule that no one can. This is because it might cause the rim to be shaky and eventually break down. Look at Carmelo and the other superstars, they don't hold on. They just flush the ball in. The only instance wherein you are allowed to hang on is to prevent yourself from falling on another player. The punishment is a technical foul.

Both are exceptable to me. The no-hold dunk is flashy while the rim-grab dunk shows power, which are both okay. I just hate watching people hang there for a while before coming down.

You can grab the rim as you dunk, but the guys in the N.B.A jump so high they can actually throw it down. The first time I witness this type of dunk was from a guy name Willie Glass who attended ST Johns in the 80's.Willie was in the layup line, doing this because back then you could'nt dunk during warm-ups,so he was just runninig up to the basket jumping real high then throwing it in without touching the rim.

funny you say that about lebron...last night he had an awesome dunk and he held onto the rim and pulled it down, he never does that. its a technical foul if you hold onto it too long, unless youre protecting a player underneath you. but i prefer the quick two handed slams, ala kobe bryant where he sails in and just throws it down without losing momentum and doesn't hang on the rim.

its great to see those players hanging onto the rims and doing pull ups but i think the nba has a rule that if a player do that they would get a technical foul.

Dunking like that is against the rules and will get the players fined.....but it's still cool to see lol

I like the ones you don't hang on the rims because it's like the player is going for it and stop me if you can. It's more skill full if you do it legally......

Lebron, Kobe, Marion, Vince

Yeah it's against the rules to hang on, but a lot players do it unnecessarily!!!!!!!!!!
