Oscar Wilde never wrote a boring word. If you find it dull, maybe your teacher is boring - the play is certainly fun to read

The Importance of being Ernest is a play and one of my favorite oscar wilde plays. Oscar Wilde has never written a dull word.

Confusing? never, this play helped pass my english literature exam ( got an A*).

To understand the play, first read it, then go and see a production or rent the DVD of the movie.

The Importance of Being Earnest is a play, not a novel, and it is very entertaining to read. I've yet to read anything dull by Oscar Wilde.

Also, I've never found English literature in general confusing. (If you're thinking Wilde wrote in the style of Shakespeare or original versions of Beowulf, he did not.)

Some examples of lines from the play:
"London society is full of women of the very highest birth who have, of their own free choice, remained thirty-five for years."

"The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what Fiction means."

"To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."

The play by Oscar Wilde is fun, a hoot. Wilde was incapable of being boring or unfunny. Going through Customs on his first visit to America, he was asked by the Customs agent, "What do you have to declare?" He said without a moment's hesitation, "Nothing, my good man, but my genius." That was Wilde, a fellow well-named.

Well, first of all it's a play, not a novel. I really liked reading it, I thought it was witty and funny. It's not too complicated either. You can rent the movie with Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth to help you understand what's going on, if you're not too sure. It was a fairly decent adaptation.
