I'm 35 yo and 11-1/2 weeks pregnant. I'm due 2 weeks shy of my 36th birthday. It took about 9 months to concieve, but it happened. The doctor isn't even considering it a high risk. So far so good and it was all natural. No fertility drugs. But if you do have trouble, there is always ways to help a woman get pregnant. Good luck in Life!!

First of all. Don't put a deadline. When a baby is conceive in most cases is when we don't think about it. There is a high risk of fertility problems thru mids 30's. You should go to your Gyno for all this types of questions. Now of course with the advances is easier to carry a baby to full term. Now I just mention hardtime conceiving without using pills. By that time you may or may not need fertility drugs. That's why I suggest a Gyno visit.:Imagine he can give you an estimated of until when will you be able to give birth without problems.
I have a best friend who happens to have endometriosis, she's 22 like me. she was diagnose last year. The doctor told her she has 2 years to be able to conceive naturally and then she will have to use pills. She bought the pills now cause it increase the chance.
I wish you good luck!!

They usually say once you hit the age of 35, that's when your risk for complications increases. But that's not every woman. Every woman is different. My ex's sister had a perfectly healthy baby girl at the age of 44. My mom had me when she was 36. I'm fine. 32 is still young. I'm 30 and just had my second, and plan to have another by the time I'm 31 or 32. (that will be the last!!! :()
Nowadays, they do so many tests on you. If you have doubts, share them with your doctor. They can probably do tests to make sure your in tip-top health before you even get preggo.

I am almost 36 and 39 weeks pregnant with my sixth. I have not had any troubles, some do...advanced maternal age is a risk factor for Down's syndrome and other abnormalities...but every woman and every situation is differne.t Start by getting yourself healthy now and until you conceive, eat right, stop smoking and drinking if you do these, exercise, and maybe take a daily vitamin that contains folic acid. Get and keep your body in tiptop shape and you will reduce the risk!!!

Being over the age of 35 puts you in the "high risk" category. The main thing is that your fertility could be decreased, therefore making it harder to become pregnant. There is a slightly higher chance that the baby could be born with Down Syndrome. You are more likely to develop high blood pressure , diabetes or cardiovascular disease during pregnancy. Older mothers are also more subject to miscarriages, preeclampsia, and preterm labor. Labor and delivery can be longer and more complicated, with c-section or assisted delivery (with forceps or vacuum extraction) are more common.
But still, nothing is certain. These are the few risks that COULD *but not alwys do* happen.

If your otherwise healthy, you should be able to conceive after 33. I know many people who have children well into their 30's and who did just fine. The worst thing you could do is start worrying about it now. That kind of stress can prevent you from becoming pregnant. You will do just fine. Good luck.

No, waiting until you are 33 to have a child is completely normal in this day and age. Risks often rise in woman closer to their 40's, but many woman are waiting to have babies. I don't quite understand your whole situation, but I think I have an idea. Just make sure the guy is worth it before you commit yourself to the wait.
Best of luck and take care.

Generally advanced maternal age is considered to be 35 or older at the time of birth. There are higher risks, but that does not mean you won't have a healthy pregnancy or baby. You shoud speak with an ob/gyn about your health and they will help you determine.

I think the bigger of the issues you should be worried about is the 5 years of personal problems you anticipate your boyfriend having. I have to imagine he is in prison and you are waiting for him to get out, having a baby shouldn't be the first thing you plan to do.
BTW 33 is not too old to have a baby.

you may not any trouble conceiving your first child, but just know that after the age of 30 you need to receive all the proper testing once you are pregnant to make sure the baby is growing properly.
