Most people will tell you that 15 weeks is early too feel the baby move, especially if this is your first. However, I did feel my daughter move at 15 weeks exactly. It felt like butterflies fluttering around. I know for sure it wasn't gas. I am 15.5 weeks pregnant again. I think I felt the baby move a couple of times, but it wasn't the flutter feeling I got with my daughter. It was more like someone rubbing my belling on the inside. I know this wasn't gas either.

Sounds like what you felt was most likely the baby. You may not feel the baby move often at this time but within the next few weeks you should feel the baby move more often. Also, most babies move at night when you are lying down. During the day, walking and movement help to cradle the baby in the amniotic fluid, which makes them sleep. So, when your at rest is when the baby wakes up and moves around. Congratulations and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy & baby.

It's still "techincally" a little early but that doesn't really mean anything. At 15 1/2 weeks my doctor asked if I thought I had felt anything yet and said I should expect it in the next 4 weeks or so. I'm 17 weeks now and occasionally think I feel something. I don't know about "fluttering", it feels more like I have a little fish in there.

The beginning signs of fetal movement is a feeling of gas or butterflies in the stomach. If you have the feeling, and you don't release gas, then it is probably the baby movements.

congrats on feeling your baby moving for the first time. When I was pregnant it was at about 16-17 months that I felt the baby-it felt like butterflies in my stomach to me, turned out to be the baby!

HAHAHAHA I thought the same thing when i was pregnant. i was at about 17 or 18 weeks and i thought i was going crazy. now i know it was little feet i was feeling. It's not out of the question, but it is uncommon.
chances are if you only feel it spontaneously and like a spasm and it feels like it's only in one spot and doesn't travel, it's probably toes tickling your tummy and not gas bubbles.

IT never felt like butterflies to me. I never understood where that explanation came from.

for me I felt my baby move pretty early on to and it felt like a little flutter. If you want to do a test drink some orange juice and try to relax for about 20min. you should feel it again.

its the baby!
i had (and still have!) that same feeling .. it feels like a gas bubble .. but you don't get the urge to pass gas. That's your baby playing in there :)

I love it!

congrats! good luck! God bless!
