Absolutely depends on the state you reside! You'll need to find an attorney who does family law or go to the prosecutor's office or the clerk's office and see if they can give you the Parenting Time Guidelines for your state and county. If a father is given parental rights, he will then have to pay child support, educational expenses and medical expenses as well. Good luck to you!

A father is not "given" parental rights. He has those rights as soon as the child is born. He has the right to visitation and to have a say in decisions made where the child is concerned.

He also must pay child support to help raise the child.

You have the same rights as the mother.....

U/K answer would be that since the 1986 Children Act there are no longer any such thing as "Parents Rights" only Parental RESPONSIBILITIES!

You "Big" people out there lost any such "rights" you thought you had over your children only to have them replaced with the responsibility to only do GOOD things for them. Set out as "All decisions taken in respect of a child can only be based on what is in the BEST interests of that child.

SO, Parents "Butt-out"! and Pay-Up - start with a X-box please.
