I'm really interested in seeing the world, and also interested in doing research on the African diaspora. How are blacks treated in your country, economically, socially, etc? Are they accepted as nationals or treated as foreigners? Firsthand experience preferred. Please state your country.

Hi i am black and i live in Wales in UK and you know what i think no mater where you was born in this world if you are black most of us face the same problems. It is so bad where i live my child can't play out. Even like most countrys my grandparents and 2 of my great grand parents born here too' They foughtght in 2 world war's worked all they life's but still we will never be seen as Brithish ' get the same old names called to us from the days when it all began. We have all these laws in uk saying that its a crime and they take it very seriously. It's nothing new to tell' call the police do every thing right but as always nothing gets done . who cares about us we have no feeling's I have never ever felt Brithish in my whole life i have had this feeling of not beloning . It's been hard but i think its made me a stronger person. I have friends from all over andi accept every one for who they are and not for what they are. I find it so strange that today in 2007 that there are so many peopel out there that still think we are some kind of allien race ' may be we are a thret to them who know's all i can say is i am not Welsh i just happend to be born here . It would be good to find out which part of Africa my ancsestors where stolen from. May be i never ever will know. one thing i know i am very proud of who i am and i would not change my self for no one. After alot of soul serching and the endles feeling of not beloning i found islam and proud to say i have been muslim now for over a year and its the best thing ever that has happend to me in my life& inshallah my life will be long and happy and by the way in isllam there is no color every one is one and we are all part of Allahs wonderfull family and we are all brothers and sisters and face it after all there is only one god. I hope this helps you with you'r research. I could tell you so much more ' but i don't wana bore all those peopel that will read this. I think this is a wonderfull thing that you are doing and wish you the best of luck with it have a good long happy life & may God bless you& all our brothers and sisters in this world and pray for world peace Allah hafiz' U'r sister Eman

I am from Trinidad where prejudice tends to be social more than racial. The "haves" are in, it doesn't matter what their skin colour is. The "have nots" are out and the same principle applies. Also most people from Trinidad are not pure from any race and all Trinis regardless of race or creed will proudly tell you they are Trinidadian and are treated as nationals. The people of darker skin colour are not treated differently. Money talks.

they r human beings, a minority, but I have seen many rich black people too. less criminals in comparison with african amercians, and less racism,, cause white people are the worst honestly..plus a lot of latinos .. caribeans specially are mixed with blacks,, being hispanic is not a race is a mixture of cultures and ethnicities.. however here blacks hates us too.. nope.. I wont feel surprised if I see ablack person speaking spanish.. that is ignorance.. why I would assume a black person in the street is a foraigner?

im black and from the caribbean and although black is the dominant race where i live white people still manage to get preferences i see unqualified white gettin top positons they get treated with more respect because ppl assume they have more money when they are actually quite cheap basically they are still worshiped in a subconscious way...other than that blacks are treated well

treated like ****, if they dress like rappers. I got a few black friends that dress like that and they put security on us when we go to the mall. It's not because of me or my friend brett(looks like a homless man) i got lots of percings and a green mowhawk. They don't watch us cause were freeking white. However they obviously stare at us. but no security guards stalk us. It's only when we go with Theron and my other black friends that we get watched and stalked by security gaurds. For jobs they don't hire black ppl cause they have a "scary image" of a rapper.....but white guys that dress like rappers get jobs like a snap of the fingers. Btw i live in canada the contry of the free.

well im from ghana and we are all black so we are treated equally. The racism happens where there are both balcks and whites like in south America and Domincan republic. the blacks are treated very poorly.

There are alot of bigots on here today do not evaluate the whole population from this bigots. I am sure they come from poverty and oppression. They are not educated they know not what they do. You just have to ignore them I am sure they are from the south and havent been exposed to much. I am sure there are alot of wonderful people in the USA. Come to Canada we welcome all.
