If you have a dollar store in your area they often have paper, ribbon, etc. Also look for little trinkets to use in your scrapbooking. Look through your jewelry box and see if there are broken pieces that would look nice in your scrapbook. Old greeting cards can be cut up and used on your pages. Do a search on the net, just type in free printables. There are so pretty free ones at webshots.com Type in digital scrapbooking also and you should find free things. You have to set up a free account but they don't pester you. Don't ever throw anything away without thinking could I use this on my pages? You will be surprised what you come up with.

Why not be creative and let your pictures dictate what the page should look like? Use construction paper or magazine pages or old greeting cards to make cutouts. The greedy scrapbook companies have taken all the creativity out of it.

You may want to have a scrapbook party at your home, you can earn free gifts and the consultant will TEACH you how to make pages, as well as normally making a page for you!

If you want free ideas try this website: www.ScrapTutor.com
If you try your own imagination, you would be surprised at what you will create. Just remember - acid free, lignin free products! You don't want to ruin your photographs by using newsprint near a photograph or other papers or supplies that will eventually destroy your pictures. Definitely get your photographs out of the old magnetic albums, if there are any pictures left!

I love these sketches by Becky Higgins, she sketches out the layout, and you fill it in to your hearts desire. It's a great springboard for me...I just go to whatever layout fits the number of photos I'm putting on a page, and go from there. It's great! She has many more in a book (that you can buy) but these are free. Here's a link...
