This sounds very crazy that I know. Iam a mother of 3 kids already and this is the second time that I was told that Iam expecting the doctor told me that I was a month along and as long as things look good I should have no problem carrying to term. My questions is to anyone out there has anyone heard of carrying a baby to term without a uterus or know of any websites I could look at for more info. on this subject.

I did some research on this, and believe it or not, it is possible! Do a google search using "extrauterine pregnancy" and/or "abdominal pregnancy." Here is one definition that I ran across: "Extrauterine pregnancy: A pregnancy that is not in the usual place and is located outside the inner lining of the uterus. A fertilized egg settles and grows in any location other than the inner lining of the uterus. The large majority (95%) of extrauterine pregnancies occur in the Fallopian tube. However, they can occur in other locations, such as the ovary, cervix, and abdominal cavity."

In my research, I also ran across a couple of stories where it was not even know that the pregnancy was outside the uterus until there was some sort of complication. In cases that I read they did a c-section and then discovered and delivered, the healthy baby, outside of the uterus.

What I also discovered while researching, is that it is rare can be dangerous. If you are in fact pregnant "extrauterine " I would highly suggest getting a second opinion. It sound to me like your Dr is being kind of casual about it.

Good luck! I hope everything works out okay for you!

It is physically impossible to have a normal pregnancy without a uterus simply because this the place where the child can normally develop. The other comparatively safe way is "in vitro" where the child develops in surrounding imitation a mother's womb. I know well that the embriyo can develop outside of the uterus as well. But that can be life threatening for the mother and/or for the baby. Normally abortion is recommended in such cases for safety reasons. But I have no further info on the matter. In my oppinion the embrion can develop and grow to some extend outside the uterus and that makes me think that uterus is not necesserily needed for pregnancy. But honestly I haven't heard of such cases, I mean of women without a uterus to get pregnant. And I don't really believe in that. If course I may be wrong but that's what I have heard and what I know, and what I believe in. I hope I have helped you at least a little bit. Good luck with everything. I hope you and your unborn child will be ok. There is no greater gift from God that children.

There is the possibility of a "tubular pregnancy", when a fertilized egg begins to develop in a fallopian tube. These pregnancies are never carried to term and usually require surgery to correct. Without a uterus, a woman cannot carry a baby to term. If this is your set of circumstances, please find another doctor.

I don't see how it would be possible to carry a baby to term without a uterus. That happens to be where the baby grows and lives until birth. A tubal pregnancy (etopic) wouldn't last the whole nine minths and could kill you. I don't think you have the facts right.

Yes this does sound crazy and Your doctor is a quack!
It cant happen unless you are having a baby in a petri dish!
You should NEVER ever go to this doctor again and contact a lawyer. It is cruel of him to tell you this.
Could you be extremely obese and he doesnt know your medical history?
Did you ask him where the baby is living while it is gestating?
Please do not repeat this story to anyone but your attorney and the medical board!
anywhoo here is a website that has a woman who had a baby OUTSIDE of her uterus (but she did have one)...there were only four of these births in the world!

you need a new doctor or they didnt remove your uterus they lied so one or another doctor is a fool or a criminal so try this if you go to a clinic at a catholic hospital get out and find a doctor that wont lie about this situation they dont do any type of sterilization at a catholic hopital unless its a critical operation to save a mother and they may not have done your or you could have a cancer and the doctor is incompetant so get anothe opinion and if not maybe its an imaculate conception and the christ is going to come out of you vagina

That is crazy man! Where is the egg implanted if you have no uterus? You can be pregnant in the falopian tube but it won't be a viable pregnancy. A fetus can grow outside of the uterus, but it won't be normal and won't live. Get a second opinion! Today!

Do you have a uterus? I don't think you can carry a child without the "oven". Never heard of it. That's how the baby survives is from the uterine lining, blood supply,,,how the baby "attaches" after conception.
